Taking its influence from Portmeirion's classic Pomona range, Strawberry Fair is a stunning collection of tableware that will turn any table top into a sizzling summer sensation! Originally designed for the American market Strawberry Fair was launched in the UK in 2003 after numerous requests for the design were received from UK customers.

Featuring a luscious and ripe flowering Strawberry plant, set against a fresh white background, the pattern immediately evokes memories of a long balmy summer's day. The eye-catching red motif is a timeless classic and each piece in the collection features Pomona's distinctive signature border pattern.

Available both as a stand alone range of ceramics and textiles it has also been incorporated into the Pomona range replacing the Claude Reine Plum in some tableware items.

The fresh vibrant pattern has lent its self well to the new textile range. The motif has been used on bags and aprons and immediately brings to mind picnics on summer afternoons.

A clear and precise motif, with the attention to detail associated with all the Pomona designs, this small range of ceramics is perfect for afternoon tea or, added to Pomona, lifts the collection with a truly British image of Strawberries and cream. The ripe and inviting strawberry is nicely balanced by the simple strawberry flower which mirrors the blossom used in many of the other Pomona motifs.

The ceramic collection has been mainly confined to tableware and includes 10", 8", 6" and soup plates, oatmeal, fruit salad and pasta bowls, cups and saucers, mandarin mugs, teapot, cream jug and covered sugar. A small selection of the most popular serving pieces and cookware have also been included such as salt and pepper, salad bowl, fruit drainer and gravy boat. In cookware only one lasagne dish, oval baking dish and the drum covered casserole have been launched. Extensions to the Strawberry Fair range continue to be launched confirming the ranges growing popularity.

Strawberry Fair Glass

In 2004 Portmeirion launched a small complimentary range of handpainted glass using the Strawberry Fair motif. Although all the ranges of handpainted glassware proved popular problems with compliance with USA guidlines over the paint used and subsequently production and supply problems lead to all the glassware being retired in 2005.
