A number of famous designers have been associated with Portmeirion in the past and have produced inovative designs for Portmeirion Studio. Here we present a brief outline of some of the most notable.

Ella Doran

Joining Portmeirion in 2002 Ella Doran became synonymous with creating cutting edge tableware . Taking many of her themes from the natural world, Ella Doran's macro photographic techniques transformed traditional accessories such as the tablemat into "must have" designer items. Flowers, water, stones, kitchen symbols and themes from around the world have all been dramatically enhanced to provide collection after collection of eye-catching designs for use around the home.

During her time with Portmeirion Ella Doran produced the following collections which have now all been retired:

Rob Scotton

One of the UK's leading commercial illustrators, Rob Scotton chose to work with Portmeirion Studio on a stunning collection of ceramic, glassware and melamine products featuring his unique artwork.
Transferring his fantastical two dimensional characters into three dimensions for the first time, fans of Rob Scotton's graphic illustrations were the first to support this new product departure for one of the UK's favourite celebration card designers . Portmeirion Splat is fast becoming one of Portmeirion Potteries best selling ranges and although a number of his ranges have now been retired Splat continues to be available along with Rob's "When the Cows Come Home" Mugs.
