Having graduated in illustration in 1983, Rob Scotton has made card design his very own. Working originally for Kingsley Cards Ltd., more recently Rob Scotton has provided images for card consultancy Cardmasters Ltd. His wonderful dreamy characters and landscapes combine child-hood innocence with a humorous and often wry look at life. Utilising cutting edge computer programmes, Rob Scotton is very much at the forefront of his craft. As well as working on concept and character development for a series of animation projects, Rob will continue to break new boundaries, producing original designs for Portmeirion that will delight, enchant and amuse our customers.Splat Collection
The main body of the collection is simple and understated with small motifs of the Cat and Mouse on a plain white background. This is complemented by the more highly decorated mug and Placemats and Coasters ranges. The mugs and placemats are divided into two collections "Mischief" and "Well Done". "Well Done" features the Cat and Mouse in the kitchen while "Mischief" places the pair in amusing situations such as hung from washing lines and sunbathing. In 2006 the background colour used for Splat was altered to give a clearer base for the motif enhancing the detail of the deign.
