is 1st Quality Product.

MARCH
2004
New
Motifs in Botanic Garden
Teacups and
Saucers in the traditional shape are now available in 6
new motifs. Unfortunately no stocks remain of the retired
patterns.
A very limited supply
of the old motifs in the Breakfast Cup and saucer are still
available and these can be found in the Retirements
in 2004 Botanic Garden Category.
The
Herb Garden
As previously
reported in the diary page The Herb Garden is now going
to be produced on the new Soho shape. It has now been decided
to review the design before going into production. This
will, of course, delay the launch of this pattern even further.
More details will be posted in the 2004 Diary as they become
available.
Botanic
Garden Textiles
The
new range of Botanic Garden textiles are now in stock. These
are the best textiles Portmeirion have ever produced. Both
the quality and the price are excellent. We also see the
reintroduction of the much asked for PVC range.
The new range
of Pomona Textiles are now in stock. Incorporating Strawberry
Fair into some of this range it blends both the traditional
motifs with the new Strawberry beautifully. Including the
re-introduction of the PVC range.
We have also included
a seperate category within the new Strawberry Fair Shop
to include the New Strawberry Fair Textiles
Botanic
Garden Royal Rose Motif
The New Royal Rose motif is now available on the 10"
Plate and Mandarin Mug. The Plate and Mug can be found in
either the Botanic
Garden New for 2004 category or as part of the main Tableware
category.
Owing
to the high demand for this design Portmeirion have had
to delay the launch of this pattern while they increase
production in order to fulfill their order book. We now
expect Splat to be available in April 2004.
The
Herb Garden
Owing
to the fantastic reception of the new Soho Collection it
has been decided to launch The Herb Garden on the new contemporary
shapes in the Soho Range.
This will delay the launch of Herb Garden which is now expected
to take place in April 2004
M
Code
Both
Soho White and Soho Nightline were well received at the
recent main trade fair for 2004. Unfortunately M code
was not as popular and it has been decided not to include
M Code in the launch in order to ensure enough production
space for the high demand for the other two patterns.
Expected Launch date for Soho White and Nightline is now
March 2004.
January/February
2004
Two
main Sections in this months diary; What's Coming and
What's Going. Coming Some great new patterns for 2004
and a massive revamp of an old favourite. Portmeirion
continue to be in the forefront of contempory tableware
design. New patterns are traditional and contemporary,
a policy which has kept Portmeirion prominent in the marketplace
in 2003, appealing to a wide range of people but with
their universal reputation for quality.
Going
There are a lot of retirements so we have included links
to dedicated pages for each pattern showing all the items
about to be retired from the range.
We have also included a seperate page of items, retired
last year, where stocks have now run out completely and
they have been removed from the site.

Retirements
For a complete list
of items retired from the Pomona Range please click on the
link below or visit our shopping page for your last chance
to order retired items
Of Course Pomona has
been with us for a very long time so to call it "New"
isn't entirely true. It would be more accurate to say
the "New Look" Pomona
Over the past few years items being introduced to the
range have nearly always included the Pomona leaf border.
After some recent customer research it was found that
the items with the border were far more popular than
the old plainer style. So in order to standardize the
range using the border theme, something successfully
done with Botanic Garden for many years, a number of
the plain designs are disappearing to be replced by
the new border design.
On single items such as Cookware and Giftware pieces
the change, hopefully, will not cause too many problems
as many pieces in these categories already have the
Leaf Border in their decoration. Therefore once the
plain motif has sold through it will automatically be
replaced by the new design and we do not expect the
factory to hold stocks of the retired patterns.
Tableware of course is slightly
different. All size plates will continue to be available
without the border for the time being. This will also
be true of other effected tableware items for a limited
time.
The New Border Items are due for immediate delivery.
As soon as they become available they will be included
on the site.
A
preview picture should be available in a week or two
and will be posted here first.
The
Herb Garden
A new fresh design featuring an
array of country Herbs. This multi-motif design captures
the feel of the cottage garden beautifully. More delicate
than Botanic Garden, this perfectly drawn study of herbs
compliments the traditional design and blends beautifully
to include a herb patch in your "garden".
A preview picture is now available below. The Herb Garden
is expected to be available by March 2004. As soon as
stocks are received the pattern will be available at www.kingsandqueenswales.com
Soho
A new range of sophisticated white tableware but with
a little extra style. The range is divided into three
groups:
White
Nightline
M Code
Each group is based on the same fine white tableware
but with a difference.
White as it suggests is without decoration
and is simple but stylish with great shapes, ageless
in it's appeal.
Nightline sees
the addition of a fine band of black added to the rim
of each piece defining the shapes beautifully.
M Code is a
clever and effective decoration which really appeals.
A simple Morse code pattern along the rim of the tableware
looks fantastic.
This pattern is due to be available from March 2004
and as soon as stocks
are received the pattern will be available at www.kingsandqueenswales.com

stylish collection of everyday bakeware comes with a lifetime

Splat
A fun pattern from Rob Scotton
who has been designing the incredibly popular "Portmeirion
Rob Scotton Mugs" This tableware set features
one of Rob's hillarious cats and the occasional mouse.
A great set for everyday family use.
This pattern
is due to be launched March 2004 and as soon as stocks
are received the pattern will be available at www.kingsandqueenswales.com

designs from his range of mugs
Strawberry
Fair
Strawberry Fair is a smaller
stand alone range similar to the retired Summer Strawberry,
for those with long memories. It has been available
in the USA for sometime and is now going to be available
to the UK market. It's a fresh pattern, finely drawn
with great detail. It is also going to be available
as part of the new Pomona with Border Range replacing
the retiring Plum. So it will also be available as part
of a normal Pomona set (But only in the Pomona with
border collection).
Again
this pattern is due to be launched immediately and as
soon as it becomes available it will be included on
the site.

Retirements in 2004
A
number of patterns are being retired completely by Portmeirion
pottery along with the usual individual piece retirements
in all the main patterns.
Botanic Garden
We
must bid goodbye to the Christmas Rose. One of the longest
running motifs in the collection, Christmas Rose is being
retired this year. It is going to be replaced on the 10"
Plate by the new Royal Rose (which will also be available
on the Mandarin Mug). Further updates to Motif changes
on all of Botanic Garden will take place once the information
becomes available.

We
would like to wish all our customers and friends a Happy
and Peaceful 2004.
We
have been advised by Portmeirion that there are going to
be many changes to the existing ranges as well as new designs,
new products, new flowers in Botanic Graden and some surprising
retirements. As soon as we have full information from the
Factory we will post the information here in the 2004 Diary.
If
you are a collector of Starfire, Beachcomber or Dawn, we
now impress upon you the urgency to complete your collections.
We have become aware that stocks in these patterns are now
extremely low and some pieces are no longer available. Do
